News Archive - May 2002White Rose Chairman Takes a Trip on The White Rose Train 31.5.2025Yorkshire CCC Chairman Mr Keith Moss and his wife were amonst many travellers to London this week aboard the newly launched GNER White Rose Train.
The launch marks the start of a new Leeds-London timetable from GNER who have a partnership with Yorkshire CCC, which commences on June 2nd. This improved service will include 11 more trains per day which equates to another 6000 seats. Mr Moss commented, "The service will be a great asset for the Leeds Business Community, the new trains are very comfortable with little movement and will hopefully encourage more people to use the trains". For more information on this improved service visit www.gner.co.uk Howzat Lottery Sees First �200 Winner 31.5.2025Yorkshire CCC's new lottery 'Howzat' is celebrating it's first �200 winner, Mrs Turner from London, since the launch at the beginning of this year.
The scheme which is based on the weather and temperatures in various countries around the world has seen many winners matching 3 numbers to win �2 but this is the first time 5 numbers have matched for the �200 prize. The main prize of �10,000 by matching all 6 numbers is still yet to be achieved. Craig White top scored with a quickfire 83 to lay the platform as Yorkshire reached 259-5 from their alloted 50 overs. Skipper Darren Lehmann also contributed an unbeaten 54 as Yorkshire batted their hosts out of the game. In reply Devon crumbled to 116 all out to spare Yorkshire the added pressure of finishing the game today. There was little joy for the seam bowlers but Lehmann and Richard Dawson collected 4 wickets apiece to destroy Devon. Yorkshire now travel to Northamptonshire on Wednesday 19th June for the 4th round tie. Yorkshire v Leicestershire- Team News 30.5.2025Youngster Vic Craven could be set to make his first Championship start of the season when the Tykes take on Leicester at Grace Road, starting Friday.
Craven will come into the side in place of Michael Vaughan and Ryan Sidebottom will return instead of Matthew Hoggard. The clash against Leicester is Darren Lehmann's last appearance for 3 weeks. The skipper returns to Australia early next week ahead of the International series against Pakistan. |
