Yorkshire need a good day with the bat today to possibly have a chance on the final day.

Yorkshire v Sussex, Arundel, Day 1 27.6.2025

YORKSHIRE have it all to do in their crunch championship clash with Sussex after being bowled out for 255 on the opening day.
Former Tyke Mark Robinson stepped out of retirement to bolster Susse'xs ailing attack and the ex-Yorkshire seamer made his old team-mates pay.
Robinson accounted for Anthony McGrath, Michael Lumb and the highly impressive Vic Craven as Yorkshire stumbled along.
It was an all-too familiar story for the Tykes after they were reduced to 41-4. Skipper Darren Lehmann again performed a rescue act, along with the gutsy Craven, and the duo shared a valuable stand of 96.
Lehmann top-scored with 71 while Craven made 37.
Even then Yorkshire lost a couple more quick wickets and Andy Gray and Richard Dawson were forced into making an innings' saving stand of 72 to hoist Yorkshire past the 250-mark.
Gray contributed 40 on his first championship start of the season while Dawson made 33.
In reply, Sussex closed on 23-0 and Yorkshire are now looking to their spin twins to bowl them back into the game.

C & G Trophy - Yorkshire v Northants 20.6.2025

YORKSHIRE finally re-discovered their winning formula at Northants yesterday to set up a C&G; Trophy showdown with old foes Essex.
The Tykes were simply awesome as they blasted 303 against their beleaguered hosts after turning in their best batting display of the season.
Matthew Wood laid the foundations, ending his run drought with a fine 91,but Chris Silverwood was the start of the show with his second limited overs half-century of the season.
Silverwood, who hit Tony Penberthy for a sweet straight six, shared a second-wicket stand of 125 with Wood as Yorkshire really put their hosts to
the sword.
Their double departure could have led to another Yorkshire collapse, but it only served to allow Michael Vaughan another opportunity to display is
class.
Vaughan turned in a masterclass with the bat and his 44-ball 50 was a joy to watch. Vaughan mixed class with arrogance as he destroyed the Northants
attack in the closing stages while Simon Katich (40) also signed off with his highest score for the county.
Yorkshire were expecting an early onslaught from the hosts in reply, but the outstanding Matthew Hoggard and the consistent Silverwood reduced the home side to 53-3.
Hoggard struck early while Silverwood bowled his 10 overs for just 35 and included the vital scalps of Mike Hussey and Russell Warren.
Northants did rally with Jeff Cook hitting 50, but they look a dispirited bunch and despite finally being bowled out for 254 they did put up a gallant effort.
Silverwood collected the man-of-the-match award for his efforts and he said:
"There were a lot of good performances out there and it was a great win. We have to build on that now."
