Yorkshire all-rounder Craig White took 2-26 in England's World Cup warm-up match v Border at Buffalo Park. White who had been suffering with a side strain bowled 10 overs in the match which England won by 8 wickets. This is definately a positive for England with their opening match in the World Cup only days away.
Michael Vaughan made 29 runs in the England innings as they easily made the target of 203 for only 2 wickets.

A 14-man squad for the ECB National Academy tour to Malaysia and Sri Lanka
was named today.

The National Academy will play a single one-day match against Malaysia in
Kuala Lumpur before undertaking a four and a half week tour of Sri Lanka,
where they will play seven matches against Sri Lanka 'A', a Sri Lankan Academy XI and Sri Lanka U19 (itinerary below).

The squad includes Ian Bell, who has recovered from a stress fracture in the lumbar spine, as well as Richard Dawson and Robert Key, who were members of the England Test team touring Australia recently.

Today, we would also like to announce the appointment of Kevin Sharp as Batting Coach for YCCC. For the past 2 years YCCC has had no official batting coach, so we looked to appoint someone who could assist and develop our batsmen�s technique.

Kevin has achieved all the necessary ECB qualifications at Lilleshall taking Level 4 at the present time. Kevin will bring a great deal of enthusiasm and experience to our coaching structure and we welcome him back to YCCC and wish him every success.
