Yorkshire stars Craig White and Michael Vaughan both featured in a comprehensive England victory by 6 wickets over Holland in East London. The match which was England's first on the tour was never in doubt for England who had their opponents 31-5 after 17 overs. However a fightback from de Leede ensured that Holland batted out their 50 overs finishing up 142-9. Craig White contributed with bowling figures of 10. 3. 22. 2 a good test for him after the side strain which had kept him out of previous matches.
England suffered an early blow in their innings losing Marcus Trescothick for only 12. However Vaughan along with Nick Knight steadied the ship and they made 51 apiece before both falling to the bowling of van Bunge. Blackwell and Collingwood reached the target of 143 in only 23.2 overs.
England's next match is against Namibia on Wednesday.

Yorkshire all-rounder Craig White took 2-26 in England's World Cup warm-up match v Border at Buffalo Park. White who had been suffering with a side strain bowled 10 overs in the match which England won by 8 wickets. This is definately a positive for England with their opening match in the World Cup only days away.
Michael Vaughan made 29 runs in the England innings as they easily made the target of 203 for only 2 wickets.

A 14-man squad for the ECB National Academy tour to Malaysia and Sri Lanka
was named today.

The National Academy will play a single one-day match against Malaysia in
Kuala Lumpur before undertaking a four and a half week tour of Sri Lanka,
where they will play seven matches against Sri Lanka 'A', a Sri Lankan Academy XI and Sri Lanka U19 (itinerary below).

The squad includes Ian Bell, who has recovered from a stress fracture in the lumbar spine, as well as Richard Dawson and Robert Key, who were members of the England Test team touring Australia recently.
