News Archive - December 2002Members Vote In Favour of Change 9.12.2024Yorkshire's new constitution was endorsed by a 96% vote of members at an Extraordinary General Meeting on Saturday December 7. The General
Committee has been replaced by a four-man Board of Management under President Robin Smith, each of whom will retire by rotation for members to elect a successor. Backing the Board will be an eight-man Nominations Committee, four of whom will be named by the Board and four elected by members. Yorkshire also announced that in addition to the Headingley shop share with Leeds Rugby (Rhinos and Tykes) all ticketing sales would also come under the same roof. Yorkshire have Six Players in Squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 9.12.2024The ECB have announced a 30 man squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup beginning on Sunday 9th February in Cape Town, South Africa.
Included in the squad from which a final 15 will be chosen by 31st December are six Yorkshire players. They are Michael Vaughan, Craig White, Matthew Hoggard, Anthony McGrath, Richard Dawson and Ryan Sidebottom. The other players picked are; 1. Nasser Hussain (Essex) 2. James Anderson (Lancashire) Yorkshire Members Urged to Support New Rules 3.12.2024Yorkshire CCC Members were today urged to vote in favour of the new rules at the EGM to be held in the East Stand at Headingley this Saturday. 'A vote against this', said Yorkshire President Robin Smith 'will force the club into administration with a debt of around �6m'.
A vote in favour of the rules will enshrine the position of the new management board of four which has been in existence since August. The EGM starts at 11am in the East Stand Members Long Room at Headingley. Robin Smith added, ' I am confident that the membership will approve the new rules but if they do not the consequences will be dire'.
