A Better Day with the Bat for Yorkshire 15/5/2025
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Yorkshire made a good start on day 1 of their Frizzell County Championship Match v Northamptonshire at Northants.

Openers Wood and Vaughan made a swift start before Matthew Wood was caught by Hussey off the bowling of Blain for 15. New England One-Day Captain Vaughan stuck to the task and made his first century of the season, before being trapped lbw to Brown for 103.
Vaughan's figures were 103 from 169 balls including 11x 4 and 3x 6.

Captain McGrath and Michael Lumb also scored well with 51 and 46 respectively before both fell to the bowling of left-armer Panesar.
Jason Brown kept the home-side in the Match claiming the wickets of Blakey-8, Fellows- 18 and Tim Bresnan- 7.
However Yorkshire spinner Richard Dawson fought back for Yorkshire and ended the day 50 not out, accompanied by fellow bowler Matthew Hoggard, 9 not out.
