Yorkshire suffered defeat by Derbyshire in Day 4 of the Frizzell County Championship Match at Headingley by 166 runs.
Yorkshire were 12-0 overnight and looked set for at least a draw as openers Wood and Vaughan added to their overnight totals. However that wasn't to be, Vaughan fell first bowled by Welch for 38, then followed Captain Anthony McGrath for only 4 trapped lbw again to Welch. Lumb then came to the crease and the left-hander soon settled into his rhythm making a superb 86. But he began to run out of partners at the crease. Wood was out for 32, Blakey- 11, Richardson-6, Dawson- 13, Silverwood- 2, Sidebottom-4 before Lumb himself was out lbw to Mohammad Ali. Matthew Hoggard made an unbeaten 13 and Steve Kirby completed the innings trapped lbw for 4 to Mohammad Ali.
All in all a good win to Derbyshire playing a Yorkshire team who simply weren't good enough.
