Day 3 at Headingley in the Frizzell County Championship Match v Derbyshire saw Yorkshire being bowled out for 230 after being 203-4 overnight on day 2. The tail end started with Dawson and the four bowlers who followed him only put on 12 runs between them. Expecting to follow-on Derbyshire elected to bat again and 214-4 before declaring, 406 runs ahead.

Wood and Vaughan came to the crease for Yorkshire and were 12-0 at the close, needing 394 more runs to win.
