YORKSHIRE VICTORIOUS OVER SUSSEX IN TSL 16/5/2025

Yorkshire left it right until the last over to take the victory over Sussex in the Totesport League at Headingley.

The visitors made 267-9 in their 45 overs, Matt Prior top scoring with 72 and then Murray Goodwin and Captain Chris Adams made useful contributions of 64 and 56. If it hadn't been for 3 run outs the Sharks may well have added to their score. Yorkshire's bowlers struggled a little, however Harvey and Thornicroft both took 2 wickets apiece in their spells.

Requiring 268 Yorkshire Captain Craig White set off quickly making 28 off 28 before being bowled by Akram. Useful contributions came from Anthony McGrath 42 and Michael Lumb 43. But it was Australian Phil Jaques in his first TSL match for the Phoenix who was the star of the innings. Making 105 off only 87 balls including 9 x 4s and 3 x 6s. Ian Harvey helped at the end to a well earned victory hitting an unbeaten 27 off only 17 balls.

Yorkshire took the 4 points and their 3rd victory in a row in the Totesport League
