DAY 4 at HEADINGLEY
The lower order did well for Essex to raise their total to 273 all out in the second innings, led by Aftab Habib who compiled a very careful innings of 62 before he was ninth out. He had batted for four and a half hours and received useful support from James Middlebrook with 30 and John Stephenson with 34.
That set Yorkshire a victory target of 128, and while Scott Brant took the wicket of Matthew Wood with the score on 18, there were few other alarms for Yorkshire. Chris Taylor anchored the innings with an unbeaten 43 which saw Yorkshire to victory with seven wickets in hand.
