RYAN SIDEBOTTOM TO LEAVE YORKSHIRE 25/9/2024
PRESS STATEMENT FROM YORKSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB AND RYAN SIDEBOTTOM

Ryan Sidebottom and Yorkshire County Cricket Club have today announced that the Yorkshire and England fast bowler has been released from the remainder of his contract by mutual agreement between the player and the Club.

Sidebottom who made his test debut in 2001 has been one of Yorkshire’s most consistent bowlers over the last 3 seasons and despite recently being out of the side through injury, he still finished 5th in the First Class Bowling Averages and was the County’s leading wicket taker in the National League.

Sidebottom said, “ It is a real wrench for me to leave Yorkshire. I have a long family tradition with the Club having come up through the Academy and followed in my Father’s footsteps in playing first class cricket for Yorkshire and England. The Yorkshire Members and Supporters have been fantastic to me and I wish the players and the Club all the very best for the future. I am currently in negotiations with several other Counties who have shown interest in me. It is my aspiration to build on the success I’ve had with Yorkshire and to win back my place in the Test side”.
