Yorkshire Beat Worcestershire In National League 9/8/2024

Yorkshire clung onto safety for the time being in the first division of the National League with a seven-wicket victory over Worcestershire at New Road, which took them above Worcestershire and off the bottom of the table.

Worcestershire batting first made 223-7 in their 45 overs, Graeme Hick top scoring with 52.  Matthew Hoggard took 3-29 and Ryan Sidebottom back from injury took 2-47.

Needing 224 to win, a successful third-wicket partnership between Matthew Wood and Michael Lumb who made 91 and 62 not out respectively.  Craig White also contributed with 40 off 38 balls before being caught by Leatherdale off the bowling of Harrity. Yorkshire made the target with 9 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand.
