The last promotion place of the season was settled at a damp Headingley when rain thwarted Yorkshire's bid to bowl out Gloucestershire and in doing so pip them to the final Division Two promotion spot.
Yorkshire resumed on 29 for 2 on the final day and set about the bowling immediately, sacrificing wickets to put runs on the board. Their declaration left Gloucestershire needing to make 254 to win in 81 overs, and they were struggling as they slipped from 63 for 2 to 92 for 5. But with 40 overs still to bowl, bad light and drizzle intervened and Gloucestershire secured promotion.
A disappointing season for the club who have also been relegated to Division 2 of the National League.
