Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Phillip Stoner Jewellery have teamed up to launch unique and exquisite ‘Man of the Match’ cufflinks to protect their stars’ gems!
Phillip Stoner jewellery have sponsored and designed the cuff links made from sterling silver and 18 carat gold in the shape of a cricket box, which will be presented to the top player of each home match at Headingley this season.
YCCC linked up with Phillip Stoner Jewellery in a special partnership that took off a year ago and is powering from strength to strength. The jewellers, who have branches in Pudsey, Shipley and Halifax, have also produced and sponsored the Dickie Bird clock after the classic umpire, which is now recognised as a legendary landmark at Headingley.
The jewellers presented a variety of designs for the ‘Man of the Match’ mementoes, with the cricket box design winning the day for its creativity and innovation.
Said founder Phillip Stoner: “Feedback from the cuff links has sparked a positive and entertaining chain reaction so to speak! We wanted to create something fun and risqué that would be a proverbial knockout success with the players - and the boxes seemed to have struck the right chord with everyone.”
Commented Yorkshire County Cricket Club Marketing Director Ian Bishop: “The cuff links are real gems and proving to be a conversation stopper! We will set up a special presentation on May 5 when we will award them to the key players from the Frizzell County Championship Match against Northamptonshire, which starts on April 18, and the National Cricket League Match against Essex Eagles on May 5.
“We appreciate the importance of protecting our stars’ assets - and this is definitely the most unusual way of ensuring this to date!”
