End of An Era for the Old Pavilion 4/10/2024

Today, Thursday 10th April marks the end of an era for the Old Pavilion/ex-County Offices at Headingley Cricket Ground.

The Bulldozers will move in to start the final stage of demolition now that the building is fully stripped of it’s fixtures and fittings.

The Old Pavilion, which has always housed the County Offices was built in 1963 and was originally home to the players’ dressing rooms and then more recently has held the Yorkshire CCC Executive Club who were based in the Verity/Bowes Suite.

Famous memories of the building include the joy of Geoff Boycott’s 100th 100 in the Test Match v Australia in 1977 and Ian Botham’s Ashes Match in 1981.
