YORKSHIRE CRICKET CENTRE HOLDS WORLD CUP FINALS 4/4/2025

Monday April 7th 2003 will see the finals of 6-aside mini World Cup Cricket Tournament that has running in the Yorkshire Cricket Centre since early February.

12 schools started out in the tournament each taking on the role of a nation competing in the World Cup in South Africa.
Each team has played 5 matches in their group and the top two from each pool will now meet in the semi-finals and then the final on Monday.

The semi-finalists are Kenya (Sacred Heart) v Bangladesh (Springbank)
And Pakistan (Royal Park) v Zimbabwe (Burley St Mathias).

There is a trophy on offer to the eventual winners.

Yorkshire Cricket Centre Manager Andy Rowsell commented, “ This whole event has been a great success, with each of the schools adopting one of the World Cup Nations the rivalry has proved immense. All the children have enjoyed playing the competition and hopefully will return to Headingley again during the summer”.
