YORKSHIRE HAVE 2 REPRESENTATIVES IN THE ENGLAND WOMEN'S WORLD CUP SQUAD FOR SOUTH AFRICA 14/2/2025

2005 will be a challenging season for the England Women's Cricket Team.  Firstly in March they travel to South Africa for the world Cup and then in August and September they play host to Australia for 2 npower Test Matches and 5 Natwest Series One Day Internationals.

For the World Cup squad in March there are 2 Yorkshire representatives, Clare Taylor who is one of the most experienced players in the squad with 99 One Day International Caps.  Also selected is Katherine Brunt, 19 who made her test debut last season against New Zealand but is yet to play in a One-Day International.

On her selection Clare told the Yorkshire Cricket website,
"I was quite relieved to get the phone call to say I would be on the plane to South Africa as I know I am in the twilight of my career and there is a lot of competition for places now which is obviously great for the womens game. This will be my 5th and final World Cup and I have some good vibes that it will be successful for England and that would be a great way for me to finish. It's also good for Yorkshire cricket that we have 2 representatives and I'm sure Katherine will do well and fly the flag for the white rose".
