Yorkshire CCC Captain Craig White will be joining the NatWest Interactive Roadshow, when it bowls into the Leeds Mela in Roundhay Park on Sunday 1 August. The Roadshow aims to take cricket into the community and give kids of all ages the opportunity to test their cricket skills as well as qualify for The NatWest Speed Stars Final at Lord’s in September.
Craig White will join ECB accredited coaches to demonstrate and help kids improve their cricket skills. Activities including inflatable bowling nets, Target Batting and Extreme Catching games will be on site to encourage kids to have a go and get involved.
The NatWest Speed Stars competition is back for it’s third year in a nationwide search to find the nations fastest young bowlers. Open to all boys and girls under 18 years old, it offers kids the chance to test their bowling speed with the possibility of qualifying for the NatWest Speed Stars Final.
Everyone who enters will be given the chance to record their fastest delivery and receive a free CD ROM containing an interactive game and quiz, information on favourite England players and thrilling action highlights of The NatWest Series 2003. All entrants will be able to check their speed and position in the competition by visiting www.natwest.com/cricket. The four fastest bowlers from across the country in each of the three age categories (Under 12, Under 15 and Under 18, boys and girls) will then qualify for the Final plus a days coaching with an England player
Steve Day, Head of Brand Strategy, NatWest said, “Grassroots cricket is fundamental to the future of the game and we are delighted to be able to give kids around the country the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of cricket through the NatWest Interactive Roadshow.”
