A ‘SILVER’ LINING FOR CHRIS AS BENEFIT YEAR IS LAUNCHED 19/2/2025
Yorkshire and England fast bowler Chris Silverwood launched his benefit year in style last night. A dinner attended by over 300 people was held in the Long Room at Headingley.
The dinner is the beginning of a full calendar of events for the bowler.
Guests included Yorkshire Cricketing Legend Geoffrey Boycott, who was in good spirits and took part in a questions and answers session. Other attendees included many of the Yorkshire playing squad and officials, representatives from Lancashire County Cricket Club including Andrew Flintoff and other ex-cricketing colleagues now playing for other counties.
Speaking after the event Chris commented, “It has been a great evening, I am honoured to have been granted this benefit year by Yorkshire and am very grateful to all who attended tonight. I thank them all for their support and look forward to a successful year ahead”.
Forthcoming events include an evening with Ian Botham on 25th February and a Gentleman’s Evening on 2nd April.
