Sidebottom made an excellent start to the season. However, a serious groin injury curtailed his season early in June. Nevertheless in his six games he took 24 wickets at an average of 12.50 with 6-16 and match figures of 11-43 against Kent being the highlight of the season for him. A fully fit Sidebottom this season could see him push for higher honours if he maintains the improvement on last year. Sidebottom though has still earned a call up to the England 'A' tour.
