Whilst waiting to qualify for England, Lumb again had a fine season. In the 2nd XI Championship he scored 885 runs at an average of 44.25 with a highest score of 191 v Derbyshire. In addition he made an excellent unbeaten 66 against Zimbabwe on his first class debut. He is the son of former Yorkshire batsman Richard Lumb.
