Yorkshire Profit

Yorkshire County Cricket Club have announced a profit of �29,924 for 2000 which might well have reached six figures but for the early finish to the Test Match against the West Indies. Subscription income (�43k) Ground Admissions (�17k) and Marketing (�20k) all show healthy increases with expenditure reduced apart from cricket which shows an increase of �225k mainly attributable to players salaries.

The Club enjoys the comfort of an asset base in excess of �2 million and now looks forward to the completion of the �10 million re-development of Headingley.

Honorary Life Memberships are to be conferred on Test Umpire John Hampshire and veteran Don Wilson who now coaches at Ampleforth College.

A Vice Presidency is to be offered to Ian Chappell, Chief Executive of YCA/YCB in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Yorkshire Cricket at recreational level.

The AGM will also debate resolutions to introduce an age limit for Committee, to permit Committee Members, Vice President's and Honorary Life Members to propose candidates for election to Committee and another to delete the limitation of former players serving on the Committee.

The meeting will be held for the first time at the Yorkshire Cricket School, Headingley at 10.30 am on Saturday 3rd March 2001.
