Yorkshire's Richard Harden has decided to retire immediately following injury problems which have affected his form rendering his selection for First XI Cricket somewhat unlikely. It has therefore been agreed by mutual consent that his contract be terminated forthwith in order to provide more opportunity in Second XI cricket for younger players. The club extends to Richard and his family best wishes for their future in New Zealand where they intend to settle.
