YORKSHIRE APPOINT NEW CRICKET CENTRE MANAGER

Yorkshire have announced the appointment of Andy Rowsell as Manager of their new Cricket Centre currently under construction at Headingley. The completely rebuilt eight lane facility is due for completion in mid March and will include changing rooms, reception, office, meeting rooms and bar viewing area. A lift and disabled access will enable cricketers of all levels and abilities to use this wonderful new facility.

In August an additional three lane facility will be completed under the new East Stand and this will include dressing rooms, physio and fitness suite plus a learning centre for Yorkshire's Cricket in the Classroom scheme currently sponsored by Western Union.

The combined facility will be the largest and most modern in this Country in keeping with Yorkshire's position as a market leader in terms of Cricket Development.

New Manager Andy Rowsell is married with three sons and has worked as Head of Physical Education at Heckmondwike Grammar School for the past twelve years where he has had much success in school sport. Last season three of the school's Cricket teams reached Yorkshire finals with two of them winning them.

Andy played in the Central Yorkshire League for Birstall CC before turning to coaching where he has been manager of Yorkshire Schools U15 side since 1990. This has involved overseeing the early development of a number of the current Yorkshire playing staff including present England tourists Michael Vaughan and Richard Dawson. Andy also managed the first overseas tour by YSCA to South Africa in February of this year.
