Born: Johannesburg 12/2/80
Debut: - 1st XI Cap: -
Son of former Yorkshire opening batsman Richard Lumb, Michael is different from his dad in that he bats left-handed but he has the same flair for the game and was one of the 'finds' of last season when he came over on trial from South Africa. Has now completed the first of a four year qualifying period under ECB regulations. In just nine Second XI matches he rattled up 646 runs to come second in the batting average and his top score of 148 not out against Gloucestershire Second was his team's highest individual knock of the season. Right arm medium pace bowler.
